PIEGA x Mccreedy– Blending Audio with Art

Jun 21, 2023 |

The PIEGA X Mccreedy collaboration brings together two masterful creations. The Piega Master Line Source 2 Gen 2 loudspeakers with its musical firepower, and Mccreedy with his visual art prowess.

Piega writes: "In the heart of Zürich, next to the beautiful Limmat lies the studio of Conor Mccreedy, a contemporary artist whose creative roots spring from his South African heritage. Mccreedy’s artistry that is interlacing elements of chaos theory with an enduring love for the color blue, offers a unique lens through which he portrays his interpretation of the world."

Our journey with Conor Mccreedy has led to an exciting and innovative collaboration. We brought together the structured precision of our complex speaker systems and Mccreedy’s dynamic chaos-theory art. The result is a breathtaking hybrid, a fusion that is as audibly enchanting as it is visually mesmerizing.

Conor, with his skilled artistic vision, has transformed a pair of our Master Line Source 2 Gen2 speakers into an exquisite sculpture. His playful, unpredictable style paired with our technology has given birth to a stunning work of art that not only captivates the eye but also pleases the ear. The resulting masterpiece, beautiful to look at and of course offering impeccable sound quality, exemplifies the perfect blend of art and audio technology.

The speakers are exclusively available to view in-person at the Mccreedy Studio in Zürich via appointment. The showcased speakers are up for sale for a price of CHF 100’000 per pair – it is also possible to order a personalized masterpiece featuring customized art by Conor Mccreedy.

More about the Piega Master Line 2 Gen2 loudspeakers

The MLS 2 Gen2 joins PIEGA's highest product series, positioned between the four-part Master Line Source and the more compact MLS 3. Designer Stephan Hürlemann succeeded in making the sound panel and integration of line source drivers even more harmonious and visually sleeker than the previous model. The aluminum front finish adds a touch of luxury to any room. The enclosure is available in matte silver, matte black, matte white, or Zebrano wood.

Despite its more compact dimensions compared to the MLS 2, the cabinet has been significantly reinforced. This also benefits the bass reproduction: with two driven UHQD drivers with 22-centimetre diameters and two passive radiators for the lowest bass frequencies, the low-frequency reproduction of the MLS 2 Gen2 is on par with a full-sized floor-standing speaker of its size.
